What is a Hydrosol?

A hydrosol is the aromatic botanical water produced during the steam distillation of plants.

At Hinu Ora, we distil Kānuka to create our own Pure Kānuka Oil. During this process, steam passes through the Kānuka plant material and captures its aromatic compounds. As the steam cools and condenses, the essential oil separates, leaving behind the beautifully aromatic water known as a hydrosol.

Rather than letting this valuable co-product go to waste, we bottle it and give it another purpose.

The result is a light and versatile Kānuka botanical water that's easy to incorporate into your everyday face, body and hair routine.

How to Use

Shake before use and lightly spritz directly onto your face, body or hair as desired.
