What is a Hydrosol?

A hydrosol is the aromatic botanical water produced during the steam distillation of plants.

At Hinu Ora, we distil Kānuka to create our own Pure Kānuka Oil. During this process, steam passes through the Kānuka plant material and captures its aromatic compounds. As the steam cools and condenses, the essential oil separates, leaving behind the beautifully aromatic water known as a hydrosol.

Rather than letting this valuable co-product go to waste, we bottle it and give it another purpose.

For Pet Cares, that means a simple Kānuka-based spray that's easy to incorporate into your furry whānau's regular grooming and freshening routine.

How to Use

Lightly spray onto your pet's coat as required. No need to rinse.

Avoid spraying directly into the eyes, nose, mouth or other sensitive areas.

For first-time use, try a small amount on one area before applying more widely. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
